愛的鋼琴手

We skipped the light fandango

One of sixteen vestal virgins

 獻身神祇的女尼
Who were leaving for the coast

 孤伶地前往海濱
And although my eyes were open

雖然我的雙眼是雪亮的
They might have just as we've been closed

She said, I 'm home on shore leave,

Though in truth we were at sea

笑聲則是音樂之根本
And likewise if behind is in front

Then dirt in truth is clean

灰塵實際上也可說是乾淨的
My mouth by then like cardboard

 我的嘴當時如同紙板
Seemed to slip straight through my head

 溜也似的滑過腦海
So we crash-dived straightway quickly

 因而我們急速地往下潛航
And attack the ocean bed

 到達無人探知的深海底

有人說它是出自Bach第三號管絃樂組曲(Suite No3 in D major)的第二樂章(Air)，那段虔誠祈禱般的G弦上之歌﹔有人說歌詞中的故事是出自希臘神話，而且帶有藉古諷今的用意。就算是對巴洛克時期的古典樂或希臘神話不了解的，還是可以聽聽盪氣繞樑的管風琴獨奏與蒼涼凄美的歌聲。那是一種令人憂鬱而又無從宣洩的愁緒，不須震耳欲聾的重搖滾來釋出，而是深沉凝重的藍調搖滾就可悄悄地掃除了平日淤積在我們心底的瑣碎與殘渣。
